A place in Jeti-Oguz where monuments of past century preserved

AKIPRESS.COM - There is a climatobalneological resort in Jeti-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region, where monuments of the past century have preserved.

Visitors say that the old monuments are the first things that attract the human eye there and create an atmosphere as though 15 republics of former Soviet Union saved the harmony and friendship between the peoples.

"Since we had lived in the Soviet Union, the place gives a feeling that we've returned to the USSR," said one of the visitors Antonina Vladimirovna.

"This used to be a camp, in the past all resorts looked like this. It is a history too. The fact that these monuments remained brings up good memories. Some of them indeed became very old, but it tells how many years have passed since then. Because it's a history, and nobody can change that. When I saw them, I remembered my childhood, student years, good times," she said.

The resort is located 28 km from Karakol city and 30 km away from Lake Issyk-Kul in forests of Jeti-Oguz gorge at the altitude of 2,200-2,400 m above sea level.

The place has mineral waters known for their medicinal properties. The construction of the resort began in 1931 and in 1940, both of the buildings of the resort were commissioned.
