AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh met with U.S. Congress member Pete Ricketts, the Foreign Ministry reported.

The results of the parliamentary elections in Mongolia in 2024, the activities and goals of the new government were presented at the meeting. The parties emphasized the importance of deepening the strategic partnership between Mongolia and the United States, including expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, agriculture and communications security.

U.S. Congress member Pete Ricketts, speaking about his visit to Mongolia many years ago, expressed support for further strengthening relations and cooperation with Mongolia, an important partner in Asia.

In addition, Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh met with the U.S. investors, businesses and research organizations and discussed projects and activities being implemented within the framework of trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The sides highlighted the importance of diversifying Mongolia's export products and bringing them to the U.S. market, as well as increasing U.S. investment in clean energy, agriculture, education and environmental protection. In addition, the sides exchanged views on cooperation between research institutes.

Rio Tinto Group, Mitsubishi Corporation, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), McGuireWoods Consulting, Vogel Group, Altruis Group, Conrad & Associates Company, Sahuri insurance company, Sasakawa Peace Foundation and the Washington office of Mizuho Bank attended the meeting.
