AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held official talks on August 1, the Foreign Ministry of Mongolia reports.
Affirming their commitment to expanding and strengthening the strategic third neighbor partnership between Mongolia and the US, the parties exchanged views on the realization of issues agreed upon during a Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue held last month in Washington. The sides reached an agreement on several issues.
The parties agreed to open a capacity-building professional center for Mongolian English teachers in Ulaanbaatar. Moreover, an Energy Dialogue between Mongolia and the United States was agreed to be held in Ulaanbaatar this year to discuss projects and programs to be jointly implemented in the renewable energy field. The two sides also decided to extend the Mongolia-US Child Protection Compact Partnership until 2025.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsetseg and U.S. Secretary of State Blinken gave a briefing to media representatives on the results of the official talks.
"Today, we are becoming more closely connected in all aspects. The U.S. will continue our partnership under the Mongolia Water Compact of the Millennium Challenge Corporation and increase Mongolia's water supply by 80%. We will implement a program to teach the English language to students of high schools and universities in Mongolia," Antony Blinken stated.
