Astana Airport to be inspected after incidents with damaged aircrafts

AKIPRESS.COM - Astana Airport will be checked after incidents with aircrafts, Kazinform reported with reference to the Civil Aviation Committee.

The Ministry of Transport instructed the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan to conduct unplanned inspection of the Astana Airport in connection with several damages of aircrafts, the Civil Aviation Committee said.

The group of companies Air Astana said that the operator of Astana Airport damaged an aircraft of FlyArystan on August 5, which resulted in forced parkage of the aircraft for several days. The aircraft's rear entry door was damaged due to improper handling of airport stairs.

On August 1, the fuselage of a Boeing 737 aircraft of SCAT Airlines was damaged at Astana airport.

"Due to the fact that the fuselage of a SCAT Boeing 737 aircraft was damaged by Astana airport personnel, the airline was forced to change the flight schedule for 20 flights," the airline's press service said.
