AKIPRESS.COM - The President of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), Kerrith Brown, who is visiting Uzbekistan, discussed with officials of the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Olympic Committee the issue of holding the first World Mixed Martial Arts Championship among amateurs in the country.
At the meeting, the IMMAF President congratulated the athletes of Uzbekistan and the general public on the results achieved at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Kerrith Brown, who won a prize in judo at the Summer Olympic Games held in Los Angeles in 1984, said that Uzbekistan has become one of the leading countries in the world in combat sports.
In turn, the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Ikramov and the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee O. Kasymov acquainted the guests with the work being carried out to ensure the development of mass sports.
