Oil spills after motor ship sunk in Lake Issyk-Kul

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Natural Resour?es of Kyrgyzstan said it took water samples in Issyk-Kul lake after oil spill, the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resour?es reported on September 2.

The oil spill occurred after a part of a motor ship sunk in the lake at Altyn-Kol resort in the village of Kara-Oy in Issyk-Kul region during the strong wind.

Inspectors of the Issyk-Kul regional department of the Ecology and Technical Supervision, monitoring department and employees of the tourist ecology police have been working there.

The water in the engine block was pumped out with a special vehicle.

Owners of the motor ship will be brought to responsibility based on the results of the water analyses.
