AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the United Arab Emirates led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Crown Prince of the Emirate of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, UzA reported.

The parties discussed issues of developing multifaceted partnerships, promoting economic and investment cooperation projects, and establishing practical interaction in the defense sector at a meeting.

The UAE delegation included Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, and Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Omar Sultan Al Olama.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to forming a new long-term agenda for mutually beneficial cooperation in key areas such as investment, innovative development, green energy, infrastructure, education, healthcare, ecology, digital transformation, tourism, and others.

The fruitful results of the joint forum on unlocking the potential of mutually beneficial cooperation, bilateral intergovernmental and interdepartmental negotiations held today were highly appreciated.

An agreement was reached on adopting a roadmap for developing full-scale cooperation in strategic sectors.

Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE increased by 21% to $626 million in 2023. Over 320 enterprises with UAE capital operate in Uzbekistan. The portfolio of ongoing and prospective investment projects is about $20 billion.
