AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with Director of the Sustainable Energy Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Dario Liguti on October 22.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmenistan's partnership with the UNECE in the field of green energy, sustainable energy and reducing methane emissions.

The importance of Turkmenistan's initiative to create an Global Energy Security and Sustainability Cooperation Alliance, which was put forward at the World Government Summit and announced among the priority positions of Turkmenistan on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, was noted.

During the conversation, the sides discussed issues of interaction in terms of UNECE expert support in the field of solar and wind energy, as well as the development and implementation of advanced energy storage and transmission technologies.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to cooperate to solve problems in this area.
