XI summit of Organization of Turkic States kicks off in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - The 11th summit of the Organization of Turkic States started in Bishkek on November 6.

The summit is attended by Presidents of OTS member states Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and the leaders of observer states Hungary, Turkmenistan and North Cyprus, as well as the OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliyev.

The summit is being held under the motto "Enhancing the opportunities of the Turkic world: economic integration, sustainable development, digital future and security for all".

The leaders of the OTS member states are expected to take decisions on key issues, finalize agreements and approve official documents related to the OTS projects in the areas of economy, trade, digital transformation, transport and security.

The agenda will also include discussions on political and economic developments in the region and beyond with a focus on multilateral cooperation among member states and observers in various fields.

The leaders will exchange views on how to solve common problems and use opportunities for further strengthening of the unity and progress of the Turkic world.

Upon completion of the summit, the chairmanship will be passed from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyz Republic. During the closing ceremony, the heads of state will sign the Bishkek Declaration and a number of important resolutions.
