Erdogan names counties ready to move to single Turkic alphabet

AKIPRESS.COM - The common alphabet of the Turkic states will lead us and our fate to a step forward, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on November 6 at the 11th summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Bishkek.

He said efforts should be strengthened in this direction.

"By overcoming all difficulties and eliminating problems among ourselves, we will be able to sow the historical seed of the Turkic world together. I believe in it," Erdogan addressed his colleagues.

According to him, the Council of Aksakals has previously developed a Turkic alphabet of 34 letters. "I believe that transformation is necessary, if we will cooperate within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States. Turkey, Azerbaijan, Northern Cyprus are ready to move to a single Turkic alphabet. We are waiting for the decision of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan," the President of Turkey said.
