AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov on November 7 addressed Kyrgyzstanis on occasion of the Days of History and Memory of Ancestors.

"Dear compatriots!

The days of our ancestors' history and memory are important dates that remind us of our historical roots: what we were, how our ancestors lived for decades.

The state system created by our ancestors, who survived the ordeal of centuries of history, has been reborn and has been eroded, but has not lost its place in history.

Our sovereign state today is the result of wisdom, strength and heroism of ancestors, who from immemorial time have guarded and protected the Kyrgyz land.

If we look at history, the past 100 years we will also see our ancestors' desire to create a sovereign, free, and the independent state was not suppressed even during the national liberation struggle in which almost half of the population died.

They devoted their lives to the struggle for freedom of their people, which was confirmed by the event of Urkun in 1916, followed by the October Revolution, the creation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast and then the formation of the Kyrgyz SSR. During this period our ancestors were victims of Stalinist repression, survived the Second World War and thanks to their heroism and resilience a modern independent Kyrgyzstan was gained. Therefore, following the footsteps of our ancestors, we should pass on their legacy to future generations - our main duty!

In this connection, we have marked an important event in the history of the state, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast. As part of the celebration, we are opening hundreds of new socio-economic businesses across the country. These actions represent our right step towards further economic growth and strengthening our independence.

In addition, I signed the decree "On founding fathers of modern Kyrgyz statehood (Abdykerim Sydykov, Imanaly Aidarbekov, Jusup Abdrakhmanov, Abdykaly Orozbekov, Ishenaly Arabayev)". It is a good reminder for every Kyrgyz citizen to know and remember how difficult way of our statehood has been over the last 100 years, how many of our ancestors died for it.

Dear compatriots!

Always remembering the founding fathers of our statehood, we must pass on to the younger generations the memory and all the truth about the glorious history of Kyrgyzstan, which will be the key to a bright future!

By discovering our roots, our present-day youth will firmly and confidently step into the future and dedicate their knowledge, experience, life to ensuring that Kyrgyzstan will always be a free, independent and developed country.

May the memory of our ancestors always give us strength, inspiration!
