Government of Mongolia to cooperate with Alibaba Group in three key transitions

AKIPRESS.COM - On November 6, 2024, during his working visit to the People’s Republic of China, Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai got acquainted with the operations of the world-renowned “Alibaba Group,” located in Hangzhou, Montsame reports.

The Premier was welcomed by Ms. Wen Jia Tan, President of Public Affairs at Alibaba Group, and the two sides discussed future cooperation. 

Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene highlighted his meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang during his visit and agreement to cooperate in the implementation of major projects including railways and hydropower plant projects. Premier Oyun-Erdene emphasized that his visit to Shanghai and Hangzhou was aimed at engaging with leading technology companies to explore and initiate new areas of collaboration.  

As a result of the meeting, Alibaba would collaborate with Mongolia in a number of areas to implement three key transitions for rapid development targeted by the Government of Mongolia, specifically, enhancing human resources capacity under the State Productivity Revival Policy, the digital transition in ports, and the development of smart transportation systems for the mining sector, noted Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Communications of Mongolia Baatarkhuu Tsend.  

President of Public Affairs at Alibaba Group Ms. Wen Jia Tang underscored Alibaba’s potential to cooperate with the Mongolian Government and private sector in numerous fields, including the development of an e-commerce platform, smart city infrastructure, and the enhancement of bilateral tourism through the company’s “Flipig” platform.    

Alibaba Group, one of the world’s largest multinational corporations operates in digital media, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, entertainment, transportation logistics, and financial services. Alibaba Group has substantially contributed to the development of Hangzhou, transforming it into a leading smart city with advanced technology and no traffic congestion.
