Four children die in fire in Astana

AKIPRESS.COM - Four children died in a fire in a two-story residential building in Astana, vlast.kz reported, citing the city's emergency department.

The roof of the building caught fire and partially collapsed. The fire was extinguished on an area of ​​500 square meters. Children aged 2, 3, 9 and 13 died in the fire.

A fire research team is working at the scene, and psychologists from the disaster medicine center and the emergency department are providing assistance to the relatives of the victims.

The city administration said that they will provide assistance to the families who lived in the building.

"The families of victims are receiving psychological assistance. They will also be provided with financial, housing and other necessary assistance," the city administration said in a statement.

"The second family, with no victims, has been placed in temporary housing. The administration staff is in touch with the families, and all necessary assistance is being provided," the city administration noted.
