AKIPRESS.COM - Amid the investigation, major personnel reshuffles are taking place in law enforcement structures.
This week, it was revealed that Abdusalom Azizov was dismissed from his position as Chairman of the State Security Service (SGB). Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov confirmed Azizov’s transfer to the personnel reserve of the Security Council Secretariat, noting that this does not constitute an appointment to a new position.
In addition, according to Uzbek media, several high-ranking officials have been dismissed from their positions, including:
• Colonel Alijon Ashurov, Head of the SGB’s Internal Security Department;
• His brother Sarvar Ashurov, Assistant to the Prime Minister;
• Colonel Doniyor Tashkhojayev, First Deputy Head of Tashkent’s Main Department of Internal Affairs;
• Colonel Akhror Adkhamov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Operational-Search Department;
• Lieutenant Colonel Timur Sobirov, Head of the Organized Crime Department of Tashkent’s Main Department of Internal Affairs.
The investigation into this case is ongoing.
According to Kun.uz source, these dismissals are linked with the life attempt on former official of Presidential Administration Komil Allamjonov.
