
AKIPRESS.COM - A Mongolian delegation headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia Ochirbat Dagvadorj visited the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention on January 7-11, Montsame reported.
The Mongolian delegation consisted of officials of the Ministry of Health, the National Center for Communicable Diseases, the National Center for Public Health, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative Office in Mongolia, and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia Ochirbat held an official meeting with Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention Shen Hongbing. The two sides noted that the cooperation in the health sector between the two countries is expanding in the area of disease control and prevention.
"Mongolia formulated its first Law on Public Health Care Services, which was approved by the Parliament on January 12, 2024, and put into force on April 1, 2024. The establishment of a national-level Center for Disease Control and Prevention and a Center for Public Health was legalized in this law. The establishment of such centers aligns with Mongolia's development policy, aimed at strengthening the country's public health system and improving the accessibility of healthcare," the State Secretary said.
The State Secretary expressed gratitude to Shen Hongbing for providing the opportunity to get acquainted with the structure, operations, good practices, and achievements of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and extended an invitation to visit Mongolia.
Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention Shen Hongbing affirmed commitment to provide all-round support and cooperate in establishing a Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Mongolia.
