Number of people who died after drinking counterfeit alcohol in Istanbul rises to 19

AKIPRESS.COM - The number of people who died after drinking counterfeit alcohol in Istanbul has increased to 19, NTV reported.

65 people referred to the hospital, and 19 of them died, Anadolu says. Three people were discharged, and 43 patients continue to receive treatment.

Law enforcement officers found the store that sold counterfeit alcohol. The store is currently sealed.

The first cases of mass poisoning in Turkey were reported on January 14. Local media reported that 38 people, including 26 foreign citizens, had poisoning. According to doctors, 11 people died due to the use of counterfeit alcohol, including 6 citizens of Uzbekistan.
