
AKIPRESS.COM - President Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who is currently on a visit to Tashkent, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.
The parties emphasized that the relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have reached a qualitatively new level, having acquiring the character of a strategic partnership. High-level contacts play a decisive role in intensifying interaction between the two countries.
During the conversation, topical issues of further development of Turkmen-Uzbek bilateral cooperation in priority areas of political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian formats were discussed.
The sides also exchanged views on topical regional and international agenda, including in the context of forthcoming top-level events in bilateral and multilateral formats.
In addition, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov met with Deputy Secretary of the Security Council, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan on Foreign Policy Issues A. Kamilov, during which the key areas of partnership between the two countries were discussed.
