
AKIPRESS.COM - According to the new Labor Code, Kyrgyz citizens will have 22 public holidays in total each year.
Some of these holidays will remain working days, while others will be both holidays and non-working days.
Here are the key dates for holidays in 2025:
Public holidays but working days:
- February 23 (Defender of the Fatherland Day)
- April 7 (Day of the People's April Revolution)
- November 7-8 (Days of History and Memory of Ancestors)
Public holidays and non-working days:
- January 7 (Orthodox Christmas)
- March 8 (International Women's Day)
- March 21 (Nowruz)
- May 5 (Constitution Day)
- May 9 (Victory Day)
- August 31 (Independence Day)
New Year holidays:
- January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (Non-working days)
May holidays:
- May 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 (Non-working days)
Muslim holidays:
- Orozo Ait and Kurman Ait (determined according to the lunar calendar) are non-working holidays.
In addition, the practice of shifting non-working public holidays has been canceled.
