AKIPRESS.COM - The 63rd session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD 63) was held at the UN Headquarters in New York on February 10-14, Montsame reported.

The session took place under the theme "Strengthening Solidarity, Social Inclusion, and Social Cohesion to Accelerate the Implementation of the Commitments of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development, the Programme of Action of the World Summit for Social Development, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development."

Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations Ankhbayar Nyamdorj delivered a speech during the general discussion on February 11. He highlighted Mongolia’s key achievements in social development since the 1995 World Summit for Social Development in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the UN also addressed the challenges in implementing the social aspects of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and expressed confidence that solutions to these challenges would be identified at the Second World Summit for Social Development, scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, in November 2025.

On February 13, Permanent Representative Ankhbayar Nyamdorj participated as a panelist in a discussion organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) on "Advancing Social Development and Social Justice through Coordinated, Equitable, and Inclusive Policies."

During the discussion, he provided a comprehensive overview of Mongolia's cooperative movement, particularly the implementation of the "New Cooperative-Wealthy Herder" Program, the experience in developing the social and solidarity economy, and Mongolia's initiative in having the UN General Assembly declare 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives (IYC2025).
