AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with representatives of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on the sidelines of the international scientific conference "International Year of Peace and Trust: the Role of Diplomacy in Strengthening International Relations" on February 18, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.

During the meeting, the sides considered Turkmenistan's humanitarian cooperation with the United Nations and with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

The importance of joint consultative work on the development of national plans and programs in the field of human rights, improving democratic institutions in Turkmenistan, and joining international treaties was emphasized.

The parties discussed current issues of cooperation and events for the near future, taking into account the Concept of activities and priorities of Turkmenistan within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
