
AKIPRESS.COM - The XVII Annual International Mongolian Studies Conference took place at the Mongolian Embassy in Washington, D.C. on February 14-15. It was organized by the Mongolian Cultural Center.
The event brought together more than 30 scholars and researchers. It featured sessions on Mongolian history, philology, art, archaeology, traditional medicine, ethnology, climate, and society.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Batbayar Ulziidelger highlighted the significant role of Mongolian studies in the United States, noting its rich history and heritage, and stressed the importance of promoting Mongolian culture and history in the international community.
The conference featured the book Ritual Landscape: Rock Art and Archaeology in the Mongolian Altai by researchers William Fitzhugh and Richard D. Kortum.
Attendees also had the opportunity to explore rare books about Mongolia at the Asia Division of the Library of Congress.
