Trump extends anti-Russian sanctions linked to Ukraine for one year

AKIPRESS.COM - US President Donald Trump has extended for one year certain sanctions introduced against Russia earlier in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the White House said in released documents.

Restrictions introduced by Washington against Moscow by previous administrations in executive orders in 2014, 2018 and 2022 and pertaining to reunification with Crimea and to Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics are meant. These restrictive measures "must continue in effect beyond March 6, 2025," Trump said.

"The actions and policies addressed in these Executive Orders continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States," the US President said.
