Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discuss bilateral cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on April 3 in Samarkand on the eve of the Central Asia-European Union Summit, UzA reported.

The current issues related to the further development and strengthening of the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, in the context of the agreements reached during their recent informal meeting in the city of Almaty, were discussed.

The importance of coordinated efforts by the governments of both countries was emphasized, particularly in increasing trade turnover, advancing economic projects, and promoting humanitarian programs, including at the regional level.

An agreement was reached to expedite the launch of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation.

Views were also exchanged on the regional issues, and the schedule of upcoming high-level events was reviewed.
