Import of wheat from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan increases by 1.5 times?

AKIPRESS.COM - The import of wheat from Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic increased by 1.5 times, from Russia decreased by 2.7 times in January-February 2025, according to the National Statistics Committee.

14,500 tons of Kazakh grain were imported, compared to 10,000 tons in January-February 2024.

Deliveries from Russia decreased to 14,000 tons against 37,000 in the first two months of 2024.

The average price for wheat from Kazakhstan was at the level of $180 / ton, grain from Russia cost $195.

In April, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reduced the forecast for the export of Russian wheat from 45 to 44 million tons in the 2024/25 season due to a slowdown in exports, after the introduction of an export quota on February 15.
