AKIPRESS.COM - The international book festival "XVI Book FEST-2025" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in Great Patriotic War and promotion of the achievements of national book publishing and the enhancement of reading culture will take place in Bishkek on April 23, the Ministry of Culture reports.

The event will start with wreath laying ceremony at the Erkinvdik Boulevard in memory of those contributing to the development of the Kyrgyz people.

As part of the festival, the following events will take place: the conference "Current Issues of the Kyrgyz Book and Copyright", an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, an exhibition of the first book "ALIPPE – 1924–2025", translation workshops at the Writers’ Union conducted by poets and writers from the Writers’ Union of the Russian Federation and a guided tour of the Writers’ Union.

A live concert will be held in the National Library named after A. Osmonov.

The event will be marked in more than 1,000 libraries of the country, where book exhibitions, meetings with poets and writers, concert, contests, theatrical performances and interesting reading events will be organized.
