Liver transplant surgery on one-year-old child performed in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - The pediatric liver transplant team of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health and the liver transplant team of the State Central Hospital jointly performed a liver transplant surgery with a living donor on one-year-old child.

This is the 11th surgery performed on a child in Mongolia, the fifth operation performed at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, and the 301st liver transplant performed in the country.

In the future, doctors of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health will introduce new treatment technologies for liver transplantation in children under one year old, with low birth weight, as well as decentralize and reduce current costs for treatment abroad.
