
AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Boobek Azhikeev met with Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the government of Tajikistan Rajabali Rahmonali in Dushanbe on April 21.
The sides exchanged views on issues of interaction and cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan and the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan as part of the implementation of the joint "Initiative to Strengthen Stability in the Border Areas between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan" for the construction of multifunctional centers in each country.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working within the framework of developing bilateral cooperation and signing a Plan for Prospective Cooperation between the emergency departments of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
