The General Consulate of Kyrgyzstan in Antalya continues to provide consular and legal assistance to the detained mathematics teacher, a Kyrgyz citizen identified as N. u. A.
"In particular, a lawyer has met with the detained citizen of Kyrgyzstan," the official statement noted.
Earlier, Turmush reported that the teacher is Azamat Nurmatov from the H. Karasayev Lyceum in the town of Karakol, Issyk-Kul region. He was detained on April 19 at Istanbul Airport.
Following the incident, the Foreign Ministry stated that the situation is under its control, along with Kyrgyz diplomatic missions in Turkey. On April 24, the Consul of the Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan was handed a diplomatic note from the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, requesting official information on the incident and urgent consular access to N. u. A., in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
