AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov announced that major projects like Kambar-Ata HPP-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway are currently underway at a parliamentary session on June 18.

According to the President, the construction of the domestic railway has reached Kochkor.

The head of state emphasized the need to develop both the tourism and agricultural sectors.

"We must focus on developing these sectors in the northern and southern regions of the country. I believe you will have your own proposals after meeting with voters in the regions. We must follow a unified path for state development," Japarov added.

President Sadyr Japarov initiated the construction of the Balykchy–Kochkor railway on March 31, 2022. In his speech, he highlighted that this railway would form the foundation of a new railway hub, crucial for the country's future.

On May 19, the Presidential Administration announced that the Balykchy–Kochkor–Kara-Keche railway line will connect with the international China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev reported that 35 kilometers of the planned 63 kilometers for the Balykchy–Kochkor–Kara-Keche railway have already been constructed. Work is ongoing on the section up to the 44th kilometer.

"Another 28 kilometers need to be built to reach Kochkor, after which construction will continue towards Kara-Keche," Kasymaliev stated.
