
AKIPRESS.COM - The 51st meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in Istanbul, Türkiye, on June 21 with the participation of the heads of state and delegations of the member states, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan reported.
The meeting addressed the issues related to the current situation in the countries of the Organization's region, in particular the situation in Palestine, the joint fight against modern threats and challenges, such as terrorism and extremism, as well as the Israeli attack on Iran.
During his speech, Sirojiddin Muhriddin noted the effective measures taken by the government of Tajikistan to combat terrorism and extremism.
The Minister stated that the expansion of economic and trade ties among OIC countries through the implementation of relevant programs is one of the important factors in addressing economic and social problems, including poverty reduction and provision of sustainable living conditions in the OIC region.
