Police officer rescues five drowning teenagers in Issyk-Kul Lake

AKIPRESS.COM - Police officer Alisher Turusbekov bravely rescued five teenagers from drowning in Issyk-Kul Lake on July 17, around 1:00 PM, Turmush reports.

Turusbekov was on duty at the Marco Polo recreation area in Jeti-Oguz District when he noticed the children struggling in the water. Without hesitation, he plunged into the lake in his uniform. "We were on duty at the 'Marco Polo' recreation center. At some point, I noticed children drowning and couldn't stand by," he recounted. "The kids were about 50 meters from the shore and couldn't get out. I immediately rushed to help, pulled out one child, and then the rest were rescued with the help of people on the shore."

The officer noted that there was a deep hole in that part of the lake. All five schoolchildren, identified as 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, survived. Alisher Turusbekov urged children to observe safety measures and avoid deep areas while swimming.
