AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov on August 8 took part in the opening ceremony of a new administrative building for the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Karakol town, Issyk-Kul region.
The previous building constructed in 1956 had been in use for nearly 70 years and was no longer suitable for operations. It housed 10 offices, a duty station and a crisis management center. Due to cramped and unsanitary conditions that hindered daily operations, the facility was declared unsafe. A decision was made by the local civil defense commission to build a modern administrative complex, meeting all safety, reliability and operational standards.
During the ceremony, President Japarov inspected specialized emergency equipment and reviewed working conditions for staff. He was briefed on the region's early warning system and monitoring and response mechanisms for emergency situations.
The President emphasized the importance of improving emergency response readiness stating that strengthening the material and technical base of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will remain a state policy priority to ensure public safety.
