
AKIPRESS.COM - The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has approved a draft Investment Agreement with OJSC Central Asian Investment Holding for the implementation of a project to construct and operate hydroelectric power plants in Chui and Naryn regions.
The corresponding decree dated August 8, 2025 was signed by Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliyev.
The agreement provides for the design, construction and operation of three hydroelectric plants:
- Karakol HPP (33 MW),
- Kokomeren HPP-1 (360 MW),
- Kokomeren HPP-2 (912 MW),
with a total planned capacity of 1,305 MW.
The total investment amount is expected to be approximately $3.265 billion, with the exact figure to be determined after the development of a feasibility study.
