
AKIPRESS.COM - Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev delivered a speech at the round table titled "From the Silk Road to the Middle Corridor: Promoting Connectivity through Transport Development and Trade Facilitation," held as part of Turkic Week in Vienna.
In his address, the OTS Secretary General noted that the Middle Corridor has evolved into a strategically vital East-West connectivity route that enhances the resilience, diversification, and environmental sustainability of global supply chains, drawing upon the historical legacy of the Silk Road.
The event was attended by high-ranking representatives from international organizations, transport authorities of OTS member states, financial institutions, and the private sector.
Participants discussed strategies for eliminating bottlenecks, improving the efficiency of border crossings, digitalizing transport procedures, and strengthening public-private partnerships.
OTS Secretary-General Omuraliev expressed his gratitude to the OSCE leadership, the speakers, and all attendees for the productive exchange of views, emphasizing that the OTS will continue to promote connectivity and trade facilitation as key pillars of regional cooperation and sustainable development.
