
AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Thailand (with residence in Kuala Lumpur) Muhammetnyyaz Mashalov presented his credentials to King of Thailand Maha Wajiralongkorn at the King Palace in Bangkok on February 10, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.
The Ambassador conveyed to the King of Thailand greetings and best wishes from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimukhamedov.
The King of Thailand congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission. The King also expressed his desire to visit Turkmenistan in the future.
During the meeting, Turkmenistan's interest in further developing cooperation with Thailand in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres was reaffirmed.
Following the ceremony, a meeting was held between the newly appointed Ambassadors and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Sihasak Phuangketkeow. During the conversation, the Foreign Minister expressed readiness to provide assistance and support in the implementation of the Ambassador's diplomatic activities.
The sides agreed to maintain regular contacts between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries with a view to further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and Thailand.
