AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia plans to expand its mobile network coverage to all bags (the smallest administrative subdivisions) across the country by 2028, Xinhua reported, citing Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications Enkhbayar Batshugar.
There are a total of 1,650 bags in Mongolia, of which 104 lack mobile network coverage. At a press conference following a Cabinet meeting, Batshugar promised that these areas would be connected to mobile networks by 2028.
The Minister said that providing internet access to all parts of Mongolia would resolve issues such as delivering government services electronically.
A national satellite is planned for launch in 2027 to cover the most remote areas where building towers is extremely expensive or impractical.
