AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov on April 18 received TRON founder Justin Sun, the Presidential Administration reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed global financial transformations and the development of virtual assets and blockchain technologies in Kyrgyzstan.

The head of state highlighted Justin Sun's role in the development of the crypto industry and decentralized finance. He also noted that modern digital technologies are forming a "New Digital Silk Road."

"Today, in the digital era, thanks to such innovations, a new digital Silk Road is being created — a network of cooperation and financial freedom," Japarov said.

He noted that TRON's high throughput, near-instant transaction finality, and low fees have made it one of the dominant infrastructures for stablecoin usage.

The president also recalled the creation of the National Council for the Development of the Virtual Assets Sector and Blockchain Technologies, which brings together government bodies and industry representatives.

According to him, the council has already made decisions including launching a national stablecoin, testing a central bank digital currency, and starting pilot projects.

"Our goal is to turn Kyrgyzstan into a regional hub for virtual assets and Web3 technologies in Central Asia," Japarov added.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan is developing its virtual assets market, increasing the number of licensed participants, strengthening the regulatory framework, and launching infrastructure projects.
