In his remarks, the Secretary General underlined the historic significance of the First Turkological Congress held in Baku in 1926, highlighting the importance of linguistic cooperation and cultural connectivity in advancing cooperation across the Turkic world. He described the Congress as a milestone that laid the intellectual foundations for modern Turkology and contributed to shaping the basis of today’s Turkic cooperation.

Amb. He further noted that a major milestone was reached in 2009 with the Nakhchivan Summit, which established the Turkic Council, later transformed into the Organization of Turkic States in 2021.

The Secretary General highlighted that the ideas advanced during the Baku Turkology Congress continue to be realized through deepening cooperation, growing unity, and expanding integration among Turkic states. He also briefed participants on the ongoing activities of the OTS and its cooperation with other Turkic institutions.
