
AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov addressed the Kyrgyzstanis on May 9 marking Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945).
In his speech, he honored war veterans and home front workers stressing that the victory was achieved through immense sacrifice and heroism of millions, including thousands of Kyrgyz citizens. He noted that over 360,000 people from Kyrgyzstan participated in the war, and more than 100,000 did not return.
Japarov emphasized that only seven veterans and 297 home front workers remain alive in the country today calling it a moral duty to remember their contribution and support them.
He also highlighted that war brings only suffering and urged for peace, unity, and international cooperation saying that preserving stability is essential for future generations.
The head of state concluded by wishing peace, prosperity, and well-being to all citizens and reaffirmed commitment to peaceful development of Kyrgyzstan.
