AKIPRESS.COM - Pilot projects aimed at employing Uzbek citizens in the U.S. agricultural sector were discussed during a meeting between Behzod Musayev, director of the Migration Agency, and U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick, Kun.uz reported.

According to the Migration Agency, the discussions also focused on the procedures for preparing the documents required to participate in the program.

Ambassador Henick emphasized the importance of thoroughly preparing prospective workers before their departure. This includes ensuring they are fully informed about working and living conditions, expected expenses, available support, and the timeframe for returning to Uzbekistan.

He also provided recommendations on preparing documentation in accordance with established requirements and conducting preliminary checks of applicants' visa and immigration histories.

The two sides agreed to establish closer cooperation between the Migration Agency and the U.S. Embassy's Consular Section, including information sharing, advance coordination of interviews with employers, and document submission procedures.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation on legal labor migration through the phased implementation of pilot projects.
