Kyrgyzstan certifies first forensic DNA experts

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan has conducted its first-ever certification of forensic experts specializing in molecular genetic analysis of human tissues and biological samples, including the establishment of biological kinship, the Forensic Expert Service under the Ministry of Justice announced.

Experts from the Ministry of Justice, the Interior Ministry, and the State National Security Committee completed a one-month advanced training course at the DNA laboratory of the Interior Ministry's Forensic Service.

The training was delivered by specialists from the Forensic Center of Russia's Interior Ministry and covered modern forensic DNA analysis methods, the use of advanced laboratory equipment, and practical skills in conducting molecular genetic examinations.

The certification commission included Kyrgyz and Russian forensic experts, as well as genome research specialists from Kyrgyz National University.
