Uzbekistan, Ukraine to hold joint intergovernmental commission meeting for first time in 10 years

AKIPRESS.COM - SavchenkoUzbekistan and Ukraine are in talks on holding the first joint intergovernmental commission meeting after 10 years, reported Ambassador of Ukraine in Uzbekistan Yuriy Savchenko.

The intergovernmental commission of the two countries last time met in 2007. The next meeting was scheduled for 2013, but it failed to be held due to some factors, reports Sputnik.

According to the diplomat, the President of Uzbekistan and Ukraine agreed to resume the work of the intergovernmental commission after their phone talks in December 2016.

Savchenko said that several talks have already been held between Uzbekistan's Vice Prime Minister Ulugbek Ruzukulov and Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko.

The trade turnover of the two countries as a result of 2016 made 223 million, which is 9.5% less than in 2015.
