AKIPRESS.COM - Yulia Polyachikhina from the Chuvash Region has won the Miss Russia national beauty pageant this year.

The final stage of the pageant was held at the Barvikha concert hall on Saturday, TASS news agency reported.

Miss Russia 2017 Polina Popova declared the winner’s name. She wished the winner "to plunge into a whole year of fairy tales and wonders."

"I am incredibly happy. There are no words to describe it," Polyachikhina said. She said that she studies at the Chuvash State University at the Department of Journalism and does not know yet what she will do with the prizes, including a grant to study at any Russian higher educational institution. In free time the girl does aerobics and fitness workouts and after the pageant she plans to engage in self-development in the sphere of the beauty industry.

Miss Russia is one of the most famous and prestigious national beauty pageants that is supported by the Russian Culture Ministry. The winner received a new crown, a money prize and a chance to represent Russia at the Miss World and Miss Universe international pageants.
