Kyrgyzstan's National Development Program 2030: Four key development vectors

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan has outlined four main sustainable development directions as part of its National Program until 2030 approved by President Sadyr Japarov.

  1. Industrialization

    • Aim: Double industrial output and reduce import dependence.

    • Plans include developing industrial clusters, technoparks, supporting R&D, adopting modern technologies, and improving energy efficiency.

    • Focus on high value-added production such as critical minerals processing, pharmaceuticals, machinery and textiles.

  2. Becoming a regional logistics hub

    • Modernize road and rail infrastructure, build multimodal terminals, expand transport node capacity, and develop warehouse logistics.

    • Targets: at least 1 million m² of logistics facilities by 2030, modernize 50% of national roads, and implement the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan project.

  3. Agriculture and Tourism Development

    • Increase agricultural production and processing, expand irrigation, and introduce digital and water-saving technologies.

    • Tourism aims to grow its GDP share to 7%, with a focus on eco-tourism, cultural and medical tourism aiming for a top-50 international competitiveness ranking.

  4. "Green" energy transition

    • By 2030, 92% of energy to come from renewables.

    • Plans include large-scale hydropower construction, small hydro, solar, wind power, smart grids, and energy efficiency standards.

    • Goal to reduce grid losses to 10% and attract international investments in sustainable projects.

The program also includes measures to improve investment climate, promote digitalization, enhance workforce training and ensure institutional support for implementation. Overall, Kyrgyzstan targets balanced growth, economic modernization, and an expanded regional role in trade, logistics and green transformation.
