AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan wants to own the stocks in construction of Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower plant, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov said today at he meeting of the Parliament, Tazabek reports.

"Good talks were held on Kambar-Ata-1 HPP. President Almazbek Atambayev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev came to good results, as Uzbekistan before was opposing [construction of Kambar-Ata-1 HPP], and now it supports. In addition, Uzbekistan offers to enter as a shareholder in the project. Therefore, we think Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and other neighboring countries should build this HPP," he said.

The Prime Minister noted that Kyrgyzstan's interests should be put on the first place, but good relations are the national interest of he country.

"I think, if we build Kambar-Ata-1 HPP with Uzbekistan, this will be very correct solution," Isakov noted.
